Learn what the XRP Ledger is, how validated ledgers form, and how public evidence lets anyone independently inspect network results.
The XRP Ledger is a public network that keeps a shared record of accounts, assets, and transactions. Independent servers repeatedly agree on the next version of that record.
Each ledger version commits transaction results and state under a cryptographic hash. Servers apply the same canonical transaction set and validation rules, while each operator chooses the validators it trusts for consensus decisions.
A current ledger record exposes its index, close time, transaction count, and hash. Those fields let applications name the exact network state they relied on instead of trusting a screenshot.
